Black Sheep

Standing Out

It stands to reason that a modern three-story building with a rooftop bar is going to stand out in a historic neighborhood known more for its quirky merchants than its architectural innovation. The towering structure at the intersection of Margaret and Oak Streets is home to Black Sheep Restaurant, a lunch and dinner spot that exudes casual elegance. The owner came to us to design everything, from soup to nuts.

We dished up a classic and iconic logo and brand for the restaurant, as well as a website that lets people get in, find what they’re looking for and get out quickly, just like the restaurant itself. The menu design, interior and exterior signage, and staff wearables followed the theme of understated sophistication. The dinner menu earned a regional Gold Addy for Menu Design in 2013, proving that being a Black Sheep among the herd can be a very good thing, indeed.
